What is AMP Futures?

AMP Futures is a futures broker aimed at active traders. In our review, we assess AMP primarily as an option for traders who want flexibility in platform choice, workflow and trading setup.

That sets AMP apart from simpler investing platforms. A basic savings app is usually built for stocks, funds and long-term portfolio building. AMP Futures is more relevant for traders who follow the futures market actively and want access to trading tools that fit their own style.

For some traders, freedom of choice is a big advantage. You don't necessarily want a single fixed interface — you'd rather be able to choose a setup, test solutions and build a trading routine around the tools you prefer.

At the same time, flexibility also comes with responsibility. A trader who chooses AMP Futures should be prepared to actively evaluate platform, data, order setup and risk management.

Regulation and safety

AMP Futures (legal entity AMP Global Clearing LLC) is registered with the NFA (National Futures Association) as a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), NFA ID 0412490. Unlike a pure introducing broker, AMP is itself a clearing member of CME, CBOT, COMEX and NYMEX.

That means AMP holds and segregates customer funds itself, under CFTC customer-fund segregation rules. Futures accounts at AMP aren't covered by SIPC or an equivalent full-repayment guarantee — this applies to US futures generally, not something specific to AMP.

Customer funds are still protected under US segregation rules, and futures customers get priority claim to those funds if AMP were to fail. There's no guarantee of full repayment if a shortfall occurred in the pooled customer funds.

Why we rank AMP Futures number 5

At Best Futures, we rank AMP Futures as number 5 for June 2026, with a score of 8.1/10. That's a solid rating, but it places AMP behind EdgeClear, Saxo Bank, NinjaTrader and StoneX in our overall rankings.

AMP earns a high score because the broker can be relevant for active futures traders who want freedom of choice. Platform access and flexible solutions are the main reason AMP lands among our top picks.

EdgeClear is our #1 because the overall package is rated strongest for active futures traders. NinjaTrader is our #2 because the platform is strong on charting and technical analysis. AMP Futures lands at number 5 because it stands out on flexibility — valuable for the right kind of trader, but not necessarily as complete a package.

Platform

Platform choice and flexibility

Platform choice is the main reason AMP Futures makes our top 5. Many futures traders have strong preferences when it comes to charting, order tools, market data and how their trading window should look.

Some traders want a workspace focused on technical analysis. Others prioritise order execution, DOM, multiple screens, or the ability to follow several markets at once. AMP can be relevant for traders who want to customise this more themselves.

Who is AMP Futures a good fit for?

Good fit for

  • Active futures traders who want flexibility in platform choice
  • Traders who want to customise their own trading setup and workflow
  • Intraday traders and technical traders with clear preferences
  • Traders who want to compare and test different solutions

Less of a fit for

  • Complete beginners who want a very simple start
  • Passive investors who mainly buy stocks or funds
  • Traders who want one ready-made, complete package
  • Users who don't want to spend time choosing a platform setup

Platform and user experience

The AMP Futures experience is best understood through flexibility. The point isn't for everything to be as streamlined as possible — it's that the trader gets to choose a solution that fits their own trading style.

For active traders, that can be an advantage. Futures trading often demands a clear overview, fast decisions and consistent routines. A trader who has put in the time to find the right platform setup can end up with a more efficient trading day.

For less experienced traders, that freedom of choice can feel more demanding. More choices mean you need to understand the differences. Our assessment is that AMP works best when the trader is willing to do a bit more of the legwork themselves.

AMP Futures pros and cons

Pros

  • Broad platform access — particularly interesting for traders who want flexibility in platform and setup
  • Relevant for active traders — suits users who follow the market closely and trade futures actively
  • Freedom to customise — traders who know what they want can build a personal trading flow
  • Suits technical traders — a choice of tools can be useful for traders with a structured approach to analysis

Cons

  • Can be demanding for beginners — more choices can make getting started harder
  • Requires more legwork — the trader has to choose the platform and find the right setup
  • Not our overall top pick — EdgeClear is rated higher overall as of June 2026
  • Risk management is on the trader — flexible tools don't help much without control over margin and losses

AMP Futures for traders across Europe

For traders across Europe, AMP Futures can be relevant if you want active futures trading and flexibility in platform choice. At the same time, it's worth being aware that futures are more advanced than regular stock trading.

Traders should understand margin, leverage, contract size and how losses can arise. Best Futures does not provide tax advice. Traders should familiarise themselves with the tax, reporting and documentation rules that apply in their own country.

What matters most is that platform choice doesn't become a substitute for risk management. AMP can offer flexibility, but the trader still needs a plan for handling risk.

FAQ about AMP Futures

AMP Futures can be a good option for futures trading, particularly for active traders who want flexibility and multiple platform choices.

AMP can be used by less experienced traders, but the freedom of choice can make getting started more demanding. New traders should understand margin, risk and platform setup first.

We rank AMP as number 5 because the broker is strong on flexibility and platform choice, but EdgeClear and NinjaTrader are rated higher overall with us.

AMP Futures is best for traders who want broad platform access and the ability to choose more of their own trading setup.

Not overall in our rankings. EdgeClear is our overall top pick as of June 2026, while AMP can suit traders who prioritise platform choice.
