What is Top One Futures?

Top One Futures is a futures prop firm aimed at traders who trade instruments like ES, NQ, YM, RTY, CL, GC and other futures contracts. The company offers several account models, including Elite Challenge, Elite Sim Funded, Instant Sim Funded, S2F Sim Pro and Ignite Instant Funding.

The most important thing to understand is that Top One Futures is not a regular futures broker. You don't deposit full trading capital and trade an ordinary brokerage account. You trade within a sim-funded model with fixed rules for losses, drawdown, account activity, contract size, consistency and withdrawals.

For traders in Europe, this can be interesting because futures are exchange-listed, standardised contracts, while the prop firm model itself gives access to more simulated buying power than you'd normally trade with on your own. At the same time, that makes the rules decisive.

Our assessment of Top One Futures

Top One Futures comes across as a strong option for traders who want fast access to a funded-like futures account, particularly through the Instant Sim Funded programme. The big advantage is that you can get started without passing a traditional challenge first.

The big downside is that the rules are still strict. In particular, the consistency requirement, trailing drawdown and payout caps must be understood before you buy an account. This isn't free capital. It's a rule-based performance account.

How Top One Futures works

Top One Futures offers several routes into a sim-funded account. The classic model is Elite Challenge, where the trader must first reach a profit target and follow the risk rules before the account moves on to the funded stage.

Instant Sim Funded is the model many will look at first. Here you skip the challenge phase and get direct access to a simulated funded account. Top One Futures describes this as a model for traders who want to start working toward a payout from day one.

S2F Sim Pro is a more structured model with intraday trailing drawdown and a requirement for a minimum number of trading days before payout. Ignite Instant Funding is a cheaper instant model, but with lower payout caps and stricter consistency requirements.

Account types at Top One Futures

Account type Best for Key characteristics
Elite Challenge Traders who want to pay less and pass an evaluation 6% target, no consistency rule during the challenge, and an activation fee after passing the evaluation.
Elite Sim Funded Traders who have passed Elite Challenge 25% consistency rule, end-of-day trailing drawdown and a 90/10 profit split.
Instant Sim Funded Traders who want to start directly without a challenge 20% consistency rule, end-of-day drawdown and higher payout caps.
S2F Sim Pro More experienced traders with tight risk management Intraday trailing drawdown and a requirement of 10 minimum days, of which 7 must be profitable.
Ignite Instant Funding Price-conscious traders who want a cheaper start Lower payout caps, a 15% consistency rule and the option of multiple accounts.

This means Top One Futures isn't just one account or one model. A calm ES trader with 1–2 micros can have entirely different needs than an aggressive NQ trader entering and exiting many times per day.

Instant Sim Funded: the most interesting model

Instant Sim Funded is the most relevant model for traders looking for an instant funded futures account. Here you can start without passing an evaluation first. You choose an account size and trade within the account's rules from day one.

This sounds simple, but the model requires discipline. Top One Futures uses trailing drawdown that follows the highest closed balance, but never moves downward. If the balance falls below the trailing drawdown level, the account is breached and closed.

The starting levels for max drawdown in the Instant Sim Funded programme are stated as $1,000 on a $25,000 account, $2,000 on a $50,000 account, $3,000 on a $100,000 account, and $4,500 on a $150,000 account. That means the account size shouldn't be confused with actual risk room.

Drawdown rules are the most important thing to understand

Drawdown is where many traders misunderstand the prop firm model. At Top One Futures, trailing drawdown can move up as the account grows. It follows the highest closed balance, but doesn't move back down if you later lose money.

Top One Futures also has a drawdown lock. Once the account has reached the drawdown amount plus $100 in gains, the trailing drawdown locks at $100 above the starting balance. For example, Top One Futures states that a $50,000 account locks at $52,100, with drawdown locked at $50,100.

This is an important advantage once a buffer is built up, but the path to locking must be handled carefully. Many traders should therefore trade smaller size at the start, build a buffer, and only scale up once the account can handle it.

The consistency rule: why one big day can create problems

Top One Futures uses consistency rules to prevent a single extreme trading day from alone qualifying for a payout. For Instant Sim Funded, the rule is that no single trading day can account for more than 20% of total profit at the time of a payout request.

Example: if you've earned $10,000 in total, your best day can't be higher than $2,000 if you're to stay within the 20% rule. If the best day is too large, total profit must be built up further before a payout becomes possible.

For traders, this means one thing: don't think maximum profit today. Think steady profit over several days. A strategy that takes stable, small futures moves can in practice suit this model better than a strategy chasing one big NQ day.

Payouts at Top One Futures

Payout is one of the most important points in any prop firm review. Top One Futures uses dynamic payout requirements. For Instant Sim Funded and several other models, the company describes payout targets of 6%, 5% and 4% in the first payout cycles.

There are also maximum limits on how much can be withdrawn per payout while the trader is in the sim-funded stage. For Instant Sim Funded, Top One Futures states caps of $1,500 for a $25,000 account, $2,500 for a $50,000 account, $3,000 for a $100,000 account, and $3,500 for a $150,000 account.

This means that even if you earn more than the payout cap, not everything can necessarily be withdrawn at once. Any excess amount can remain as a buffer or be withdrawn later, depending on the account's rules and payout status.

Platform: Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView

A strong point at Top One Futures is platform access. Tradovate is used as the central account and platform connection, and Top One Futures has its own guides for how to log into Tradovate, connect the Tradovate account to NinjaTrader, and connect the account to TradingView.

This is an advantage for traders who already have an established workflow. Many futures traders use TradingView for analysis, NinjaTrader for order execution, and Bookmap or other order flow tools alongside them. Top One Futures therefore suits traders who don't want to learn an entirely new ecosystem from scratch.

Top One Futures from evaluation to sim-funded and live assessment
Top One Futures should be assessed as a process: account, rules, payout plan and any live assessment.

For beginners, Tradovate can be easier to start with because it's web-based. For more experienced traders, NinjaTrader can be more relevant, especially if you use ATM strategies, bracket orders, order flow, or more advanced chart setups.

Top One Futures pros and cons

Pros

  • Flexible models — choose between a challenge-based route and instant models.
  • Familiar platforms — Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView suit many active futures traders.
  • Clear rules — drawdown, consistency and payout caps are documented.
  • Fast access — Instant Sim Funded lets experienced traders start without a classic evaluation.

Cons

  • Drawdown can be underestimated — account size isn't the same as free risk capital.
  • The consistency rule requires planning — one big day can delay a payout even if the account is profitable.
  • Payout caps limit withdrawals — not all profit can necessarily be withdrawn at once.
  • Instant doesn't mean free capital — this is still a rule-based sim-funded account.

Who is Top One Futures a good fit for?

Good fit

  • Futures traders with a documented intraday strategy
  • Traders who know exactly where they enter, take profit and cut losses
  • Users who already know Tradovate, NinjaTrader or TradingView
  • Traders who can maintain steady profit without breaking consistency requirements

Less of a fit

  • Beginners who are still testing random indicators
  • Traders who increase contract size after a loss
  • Users who don't understand the difference between account size and drawdown
  • Traders who primarily want to hold positions long-term

Top One Futures for European futures traders

Top One Futures is most interesting if you've already decided to trade futures rather than CFDs. Futures give access to regulated marketplaces, standardised contracts and deep liquidity in the largest index, commodity and interest-rate markets.

At the same time, traders need to be aware of three things. First, many of the most popular futures contracts trade during US market hours. Second, accounts, rules and payouts are priced in dollars. Third, tax, reporting and any business-activity assessment should be clarified with your own accountant or local tax authority if the activity becomes substantial.

Conclusion

Top One Futures is a serious and relevant option for traders who want a futures prop firm with instant funding, familiar platforms and clear rules. It's particularly interesting for traders who already use TradingView, Tradovate or NinjaTrader, and who have a strategy that can deliver steady profit without breaking drawdown or consistency requirements.

The biggest mistake you can make is looking at the account size and thinking you have equivalent free capital. You don't. What you get is access to a sim-funded account with tight rules. Use the account correctly, and Top One Futures can be a good tool. Use it incorrectly, and it can be breached quickly.

Our assessment is therefore clear: Top One Futures suits disciplined futures traders who already have strategy, risk and trading platform under control. For beginners, the first step should be a demo account, journaling, and testing a concrete futures strategy before buying a prop firm account.

FAQ about Top One Futures

No. Top One Futures is a futures prop firm, not a traditional brokerage account where you deposit your own trading capital. You trade within a sim-funded model with its own rules.

Traders can normally register with international prop firms, but you should check terms, tax rules and any restrictions yourself. Prices and payouts are normally in USD.

Instant Sim Funded is an account model where you skip the challenge phase and get access to a simulated funded account from the start. You still need to follow rules for drawdown, payout and consistency.

For Instant Sim Funded, the consistency rule is 20%. That means your best trading day can't account for more than 20% of total profit when you request a payout.

It depends on account type and account size. For Instant Sim Funded, Top One Futures states payout caps from $1,500 to $3,500 per withdrawal, depending on account size.

Yes. Top One Futures has documentation for how to connect your Tradovate account to NinjaTrader 8.

Yes. Top One Futures has a guide for connecting a Tradovate account to TradingView.

For an experienced futures trader with a documented strategy, Top One Futures can be worth considering. For a beginner without a stable method, a demo account, risk rules and a trading journal are a better first step.

Risk warning Futures trading carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. Prop firm accounts are simulated and rule-based. Qualifying simulated gains may entitle you to a payout under the company's terms, but the account can be closed if rules are broken.
